Living Well with Advanced Illness & End of Life
One-on-one therapeutic coaching for the emotional, relational, practical, and deeply personal journey of serious illness and end of life.
You may be wondering...
How do I make the most of the time I have?
How do I talk to my family about what is happening?
How do I prepare the people I love without making every conversation about dying?
How do I deal with the fear, grief, anger, uncertainty, or sadness that comes and goes?
What do I want my family to remember?
What matters most to me now?
How do I make decisions when everything feels overwhelming?
How do I balance my own needs with the needs of the people I love?
How do I prepare emotionally and practically for what may be ahead?
How do I stay connected to life while also preparing for death?
There may not be simple answers.
But having a dedicated place to work through these questions can change how you experience this time.
You don't need another person telling you what to do.
You need a place where you can slow down, think clearly, feel what you need to feel, and be supported in figuring out what is right for you.
Our work together can help you:
Find clarity
Identify what matters most to you now and allow those priorities to guide your choices, conversations, time, and energy.
Stay connected
Explore meaningful ways to communicate with the people you love, including difficult conversations that may otherwise be avoided.
Make space for emotion
Have somewhere to bring the fear, grief, anger, sadness, uncertainty, love, relief, hope, or ambivalence that can accompany serious illness.
Prepare intentionally
Begin addressing practical and emotional aspects of end of life before they become urgent or overwhelming.
Create meaning and legacy
Explore the memories, stories, messages, rituals, relationships, and gifts you want to leave with the people you love.
Strengthen your capacity
Develop greater steadiness, self-trust, courage, and emotional capacity to meet what is happening without losing yourself in it.
Live while you're living
Make room for connection, beauty, joy, presence, and the things that still matter deeply to you.
What happens when we don't have this kind of support?
Serious illness can consume a tremendous amount of emotional and mental energy.
Without a dedicated space to process what is happening, it can be easy to:
Put off important conversations because they feel too difficult.
Focus so heavily on medical care that your emotional and relational needs get pushed aside.
Leave practical decisions until there is a crisis.
Protect your family from your feelings while quietly carrying everything yourself.
Become overwhelmed by decisions and uncertainty.
Allow misunderstandings or unspoken expectations to grow within your family.
Spend precious time and energy on things that no longer matter to you.
Reach the end of life with things left unsaid, unresolved, or unexpressed.
This work isn't about preventing difficult emotions or creating a perfect ending.
It is about having support while you move through what is real.
What we can work on together
Your work is individualized around what you need most.
Depending on your circumstances, we may explore:
Emotional & psychological support
Fear, grief, anticipatory grief, uncertainty, anger, sadness, identity changes, loss of control, changing hopes, and the emotional impact of living with serious illness.
Relationships & communication
How to talk with your partner, children, parents, friends, or other loved ones about what is happening—and how to stay connected when emotions are high.
Meaning & what matters
Your values, priorities, hopes, beliefs, relationships, unfinished business, and what you want this chapter of your life to be about.
Legacy & memory
Stories, letters, recordings, rituals, meaningful gifts, family traditions, memory-making, and the things you want your loved ones to carry forward.
Practical preparation
Creating space to think intentionally about end-of-life wishes, conversations, planning, and the practical matters that can otherwise become overwhelming.
Living well now
Finding ways to remain engaged with life—to experience connection, beauty, pleasure, purpose, and presence alongside the reality of illness.
A space for the whole experience
My approach recognizes that serious illness is not simply a medical experience.
It is emotional.
It is relational.
It is practical.
And for many people, it is also deeply existential or spiritual.
As a grief and trauma specialist, Registered Social Worker, trained Death Doula, and former hospital social worker, I bring experience supporting people through some of life's most difficult thresholds.
My work also makes room for spirituality and personal meaning. You do not need to hold a particular religious or spiritual belief. We work within your worldview, values, beliefs, and understanding of what this experience means to you.

It is about becoming intentional.
There can be a profound difference between simply moving through the final chapter of life and actively participating in how you want to live it.
You may not be able to control what is happening to your body.
But there may still be choices available to you:
How you spend your time.
Who you spend it with.
What conversations you have.
What you want to say.
What you want to create.
What you want to let go of.
What you want your family to know.
And what matters most to you now.
This is your life. This chapter belongs to you.
